What is a Chemical Peel?
Chemical Peels are topically applied acids that aid in the uniform and controlled shedding of several layers of the skin, resulting in the restoration and rejuvenation of the skins surface.
Chemical Peels can enhance appearance by reducing blotchy and uneven pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, freckling, age spots, sun-damaged skin, acne scars, and coarse skin.
Who and What can be treated?
Chemical Peels are safe for men and women, age 14 and above and for all skin types.
The face, neck, chest, arms, hands, shoulders, and legs are the most common areas treated.
Based on the skin type and desired results, your Doctor will recommend a class of Chemical Peel (Superficial, Medium, or Deep).
Superficial Peel: Helps restore even texture and tone with no downtime and minor flaking.
Medium Peel: Using more potent acids to target epidermis and upper dermis, it corrects deeper imperfections and fine lines. Minimum downtime with 5 to 7 days of peeling can be expected.
Deep Peel: Produces the most dramatic results by targeting deeper dermis. Deeper lines, scars, and blemishes are minimized. Some downtime with 1-2 weeks of peeling can be expected.
A series of 5 treatments at 2-4 week intervals are typically recommended. Touch-up treatments and customized skin care is recommended to maintain results.
Combining Microderm Abrasion with Chemical Peels will enhance and augment results.
